Peter George (also known as Peter George Poggione) is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and performer originally from Hancock, nestled in Michigan’s scenic Upper Peninsula.

Now based in St. Joseph, Michigan, Peter performs as a solo acoustic artist throughout the Southwest Michigan region. His shows feature self-styled acoustic interpretations of classic rock, blues, country, folk, and alternative rock spanning the 1960s through the early 2000s. While Peter often performs solo, he also frequently collaborates with talented local musicians from the Kalamazoo area, creating dynamic and memorable live performances.

In addition to his solo work, Peter is the frontman and guitarist for Stumbling Mary, a band that actively plays venues across Michigan’s west side.

Peter is perhaps best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the popular Southwest Michigan band Joe Wang and the Test Pilots (JWTP). The band was a fixture on the local music circuit from 2000 to 2016 and earned a top-10 finish in the Briggs & Stratton Battle of the Bands at Milwaukee’s Summerfest in 2010.

His recording credits include albums with Joe Wang and the Test Pilots as well as contributions to Wishing Chair’s 1998 release Undisputed Country and a guest appearance on Hanging By a String from their 2000 album Ghost of Will Harbut.
